TELL US A MANTRA YOU LIVE BY?
"The mantra that I live by is "DO IT because no one else will do it for you" meaning that if you truly want to change or accomplish a goal then it has to come from inside you, and it is you who has no make that change and put in all of the work and effort. And not expecting anyone one else to do it for you. It is something that i remind myself when things get tough and it is engraved in me mentally."
HOW DID YOU FIRST DISCOVER YOUR CREATIVITY $ WHAT WAS THE JOURNEY LIKE TO WHERE YOU ARE NOW?
“I think I discovered my creativity at a pretty young age, I knew that I really wanted to make it a profession when I turned 19. My calling was really pointing all fingers to art and that’s when I decided to legally start my own art business. There has been so much trial and errors, ups and downs, but most of all hard work and seeing positive end results. It makes me appreciate it now because it helped me become more knowledgeable in business, especially through my experiences or mistakes that I will now learn from in the future. “
WHAT INSPIRES YOU? WHAT GETS YOU HYPED?
"Watching other other young, powerful, self-made, women on the media who have built their own empire. I love seeing women of all kinds take charge, work hard for what they want, and being a girl boss. It inspires me to work harder on my art business and gives me hope that I can be a successful business women in today's society.
DESCRIBE THE PERFECT DAY AT WORK
"Waking up at sunrise and getting a head start with with going to the gym, then coming back and doing a little reading and meditation. I answer emails, ship out orders, market my art, and work on art projects all day at my favorite coffee shop. I love starting my day super early because I get a lot more done throughout the day, and I love feeling productive and accomplished."
WHAT'S THE MOST FULFILLING THING ABOUT BEING A CREATIVE?
"The most fulfilling thing about being a creative is watching your progress and growth, especially aftercoming a long way from your craft. Sometimes, I will take a moment and realize how many times I had to fail and practice to get to where I am today and it motivates me to work harder and not give up."
AS A CREATIVE, WHAT IS THE HARDEST THING YOU'VE HAD TO DEAL WITH/ARE STILL DEALING WITH?
“I think the hardest thing I have and still am dealing with is self doubt. I can get really hard on myself if I feel that I didn’t accomplish something the way I wanted to and I start to spiral down in my head mentally and go on a whole cycle of not feeling like I can do it. When in reality, the overthinking and self doubt is being made up in my head and I have to remind myself that it’s OK to go through trial and error, and making endless mistakes. Because that is what perfects your craft and makes you better in all aspects of your work and yourself."
WHAT'S THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE YOU CAN GIVE?
"KEEP GOING. You have to take your business as if you are making your favorite cake from scratch. It takes the right temperature to to bake the cake, and lot of the layers of the frosting have to be added. Sometimes you put the cake in the oven too lond, or didn't add enough sugar or whatever it is and it comes out bad. The key is don't give up and start making lemon tarts now, change the formula for the cake instead. Meaning that you have shouldn't call it quits on your art business and start something new because you "didn't do the steps right" but you need to find other methods, and a new formula that will work on your cake aka your business. Practice, trial and error is what comes along with it."
WHERE DO YOU WANT TO BE IN 5 YEARS?
"In 5 years I want to be collaborating my art with major brands like Nike, Puma, Fenty or more. I want to have my art represented at the MOCA or LACMA or in a gallary at the Biennale in Italy. I want my art business to grow successfully and reach global. I want to travel around Europe and live in Italy for a couple of years in my villa and maybe make 7
figures, have a boyfriend and a dog in the mix."
WHAT'S THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE YOU CAN GIVE?
WHAT IS YOUR "ART BISH MOMENT" (YOUR PROUDEST MOMENT AS A FEMALE CREATIVE)?
"My ART BISH moment is going on vacation, travelling off of my art income and exploring the world. It reminds me of how hard I worked for what I wanted in life despite the criticism I get for taking a route that is seen as 'taboo' or a career that's not 'stable'. It reminds me that I get to do what I love, work my ass for it, and still enjoy the fruits of labor!"
" I would want to be on a stranded island with Rihanna, Meg three Stallion, and Kris Jenner. Kris Jenner would have to be stuck with me and forced to teach me how to become rich and Meg the Stallion, Rihanna and I would all become and have such a lit time together that I would probably forget I got stranded in the first place."
